Selected Topics on Multimedia Tele-immersive Environments

Spring 2007

Seminar Description: This seminar on multimedia tele-immersive environments aims to present a selective view of tele-immersive system, networking, computer vision with 3D calibration, reconstruction and view manipulation alogrithms that are very much related to accomplishing high-quality 3D collaborative environments. In this reading seminar, students have the option to select papers for presentations from a set of posted papers or present their own chosen paper/research in the seminar's topics range.

Evaluation: Each student must present several papers. The S grade of seminar will be based on the paper presentation (50%) and participation/attendance of the seminar (50%).

Readings: Papers can be chosen from Leading International Conferences such as ACM NOSSDAV (Network and Operating System Support for Digital Audio and Video) 2006, IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME 2006), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications, ACM Multimedia 2006, 3DPTV 2004 and 2006, and others.
